Fifteen fuse boxes (we thought)

Field Note No. 4

Date: 1 June 2026

Status: Mapped

We thought there were fifteen.

The electrician found twenty.

Twenty separate fuse boxes, each quietly doing its own job.

Technically, that's unusual. Thankfully, most of the electrical system is in good condition, with only modest remedial work needed to make everything completely safe.

The fuse boxes tell another story though.

Each one marks a moment when someone adapted the Hall for whatever it needed to become at the time. A new room. A different purpose. Another chapter.

One day they'll probably become one integrated system.

Until then, the wiring reads rather like tree rings.

Proof that growth rarely happens all at once.
