Some chapters deserve to be properly acknowledged before the next one begins.

Mark Poynton at Caistor Hall opened in March 2023 and was awarded a Michelin star in 2025 — the only one in Norwich — retaining it the following year. What Mark and his team created here was something genuinely special.

The restaurant closes its doors on 22nd August, and we wish Mark and his team every success as they focus their energies on Ancient Shepherds in Cambridge.

Caistor Hall has no plans to replace the restaurant at this stage. Its closure allows us to focus fully on the next phase of our work — the noisier, more disruptive business of making the estate safe and secure, closing its doors to the public for now, and preparing the building and grounds for what they’re becoming.
