What the rooms had been holding onto

Field Note No. 7

Date: 16 June 2026

Status: Still uncovering

The mirrors were there all along.

You just couldn't see them.

Rooms that had become storage spaces slowly began giving up their contents.

One hundred and twenty-two chairs have found new life in a local village hall. Sofas have been donated. Four-poster beds have gone to new homes.

The mirrors stayed.

Each time another room is cleared, something quietly beautiful emerges from beneath the clutter.

Restoration isn't always about bringing something back.

Sometimes it's simply about uncovering what was patiently waiting underneath.
